That's how it all started. It’s been 2 years now that Antidote has been nourishing through superb-tasting cacao and curing with the help of gods' and goddesses' powers. Antidote has been serving as therapy for woeful Mondays, weak moments, and lonely nights - and it certainly forever cures your unsatisfied palates and taste buds. We are truly dedicated to making an authentic, delicious, and potent chocolate bar so you can break off pill-by-pill for a happy ending.
As always, we thank you for your love. Celebrate with us; have a Woodford Reserve whisky with Hybris (my fave combo), an espresso with Kakia, a Cabernet Sauvignon with Artemis or your favorite beer with Hestia (and yes, we assume you know our bars by their goddess name ;-)
P.S. We're always happy to hear from you - send us your thoughts at firstname.lastname@example.org

After several trips to Ecuador I have noticed the abundance and delightful taste of its coffee beans. Antidote's Kakia, the Greek goddess of vice, needed a more potent cure; impressed with the quality, Arabica coffee beans and captivated by the cardamom flavor, we have created yet another blissful resolution to naughty behavior and wicked thoughts! Make sure to grab a KAKIA bar to pique your compassionate side and stimulate the mind in a natural and delicious way.

Welcome back fellow chocophiles. I have just returned from another production run in Quito, Ecuador.. Coordinating production brings continuous challenges and surprises and personally lots of need for "Antidote". So to-day I'd like to express my gratitude to the team and give you an insight into the people and the place that make Antidote Chocolate great.
Quito is the capital city of Ecuador, a country located in the northwestern part of South America, it sits on the Guayllabamba river basin, on the eastern slopes of Pichincha. “Ecuador” is the Spanish word for “equator” and indeed the central square of Quito is located about 25 kilometers (16 mi) south of the equator itself. A monument and museum marks the general location of the 0 degree point. The elevation of the city is 2,800 meters (9,200 ft), making Quito the second-highest administrative capital city in the world. It takes a few days for visitors to acclimatize to the thin air. The high altitude also contributes to the magic of the cacao bean. It must be tough and durable to thrive in an extreme environment, qualities that we in turn receive when we eat the chocolate.
The Antidote bar is created through several complex processes: from a very specific way of preparing the raw beans at the farm, a unique process of grinding the raw beans into cacao mass (cacao liquor), to the artisanal nature of how our bars are made with very particular spices and fruit, many of which are grown, dried and cut locally. The packaging, a personal obsession, also comes with it’s own challenges from the intricacies of wrapping to the specifics of printing.
It takes a lot of open-minded people to make all this happen including the factory management, production teams, farmers and other suppliers. I am time and time again wonderfully surprised by their willingness to fulfill our vision. This, along with their beauty, kindness and humor makes the people of Quito unique. I remember how they rolled their eyes during our first production when we made the Lavender-Salt bar but still gave it their best care and attention. It became one of our best-sellers.
While I was away Antidote was featured in articles in The Wall Street Journal and Time Healthland. Our line will soon be distributed in the country of it's origin and many other parts of the world such as Belgium, Austria and Singapore. It’s so rewarding to see this constant growth.
In Health and Respect!

Just a little note to thank you for your support and appreciation and to simply savor the moment, for today Antidote is one and a half years old.
I fondly remember selling the first bars on July 25th, 2010 on a hot summer day at the Brooklyn flea market. People went wild for the Lavender - Sea salt bar and happily they still do. The whole concept was born from the need for a good old-fashioned "antidote" to frustrating times. An intense nine months later, the goddesses were born and with them the super remedy I’d been looking for. With this spirit I hope each bite and every bar brings you lots of happiness.
I'm thrilled that Antidote is now available in approximately 100 stores nationwide including Whole Foods in the NE region with many urgent requests flying in from overseas.
Valentine's Day is coming up. I say there seems to be no better time for a piece of pure dark chocolate!
Be good to yourself.
